Sadiq Campaigning in Vauxhall, 2016

Do you want to get involved with Vauxhall Labour Party?

Whether you want to meet like minded people, get involved in campaigning, come to policy or social events – there’s something for everyone in Vauxhall Labour Party! We rely on volunteers for all of our activities, and want to encourage everyone to play a part in the local Labour Party.

Our main task over this coming year is to retain control of Lambeth Council in the 2018 Local Elections.

The Constituency Labour Party (CLP):
We are a very active Constituency Labour Party that meets monthly to discuss local and national issues. Our MP, Kate Hoey also likes to attend to give an update on her activities. Former guest speakers include Chuka Ummuna, Paul Steinberg (Public Health London) and Owen Jones (Journalist)

Your local branch Labour Party: Each ward in Vauxhall also has a branch Labour Party where local members meet monthly with their councillors and discuss local concerns and organise campaigning in their area.

Policy debates: We also organise regular policy debates on key issues, and will be looking to do more of these as we build towards 2018. All Labour Party members are welcome to these and we feed our ideas into both the Lambeth Labour policy making process at a regional level, and the Labour Party’s process at a national level.

Social events:A good opportunity to get to know each other! These events can range from BBQs, trips to the pub quiz, meals in local restaurants with guest speakers (Angela Eagle and Dawn Butler most recently joined for our 2016 Christmas Fundraiser).

Women’s Forum: This brings together female Labour Party members in Vauxhall and organises special events to discuss policy issues and training and development for women in the Labour Party.

Ethnic Minority Forum: This forum brings together members from across Vauxhall’s many diverse communities to promote engagement in the party, hold special events as well as training and development for BME persons to run for elected office.

Vauxhall Young Labour:
This is for Labour Party members under the age of 27 and aims to get younger members from across the CLP working together, also with young members in Streatham and DaWN.

If you’re interested in joining the Labour Party, or have any questions about any of our local activities then please do get in touch – we’d love to hear from you. When contacting us, it’s helpful if you give your postal address then we can make sure we put you in touch with your local branch.
